The elegant romance of 1860 Art deco France comes to life through 40 voices of the Singularity choir on the Burrinja Stage. Be drawn into the playful drama of 19th century high society, a young widow, amorous encounters and opulent French passion.
The Merry Widow is a playful and light-hearted vision of high society romance in 19th century France. Follow the tale of a town’s quest to keep the heiress of their city's fortune in the region by finding her the right husband.
Since its premiere in 1905, this sumptuous operetta has enjoyed extraordinary international success across the globe.
For this special concert of The Merry Widow at Burrinja, Singularity choir will be joined by Maria-Cristina Keightley and Nick Seidenman who have performed the leading roles in The Merry Widow in New York and with Melbourne Opera.
