About the Studios

Being an arts tenant at Burrinja is an opportunity to become part of a vibrant network of fellow artists in a creative atmosphere, at the region's cultural hub. Our aim is to create an inclusive, flexible and diverse group of studio spaces where artists can nurture and expand their practice.

Burrinja provides up to seven Artist’s Studios for arts-related practice and business from most disciplines. Arts tenants have 7 day a week access to their studios and a range of other facilities at Burrinja, including wet area, exhibition, display and workshop spaces, artists' common area and kitchen.

Studios become available from time to time, and prospective arts tenants may submit an expression of interest via a written application. Burrinja will evaluate studio applications from artists based on the selection criteria policy, and with regard to the mix of artists interested and spaces available.

The core activity must be of an art and/ or cultural nature, and all arts practice and mediums will be considered. A base-rate amenity and utility fee of $36 per week, before GST (or $156 per calendar month, before GST) is payable.

The Workshop

The Workshop is a shared space for artists, staff, volunteers and visitors. It is suitable for a broad range of mediums due to natural light, concrete floors, and small kitchen fitted with sink and oven. It is fitted with three large, lockable cupboards for storage of art materials – one cupboard is allocated to each Casual Studio tenant. The Workshop opens onto a secure, partly covered outdoor area and community veggie garden. A base-rate amenity and utility fee of $60 per calendar month is payable.
