We greatly appreciate your generous support as the arts industry emerges from the impacts of COVID-19.

Help keep our creative heART beating by giving to Burrinja’s end of financial year fundraising appeal. As a bonus, donations made before the 31st of May will be matched dollar for dollar by Creative Partnerships Australia. That means that a $50 donation will be $100 raised to support artists in the community!

This year Burrinja has embarked on the long journey of Creative Recovery, of creating nurturing spaces and opening up the doors of opportunity to artists and patrons alike. In the last 12 months we have supported the development and display of:

385 INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS SUPPORTED • 37 INDIGENOUS ARTISTS  SUPPORTED • 12 LGBTQI+ ARTISTS SUPPORTED
16633 AUDIENCE MEMBERS HAD ARTS EXPERIENCES WITH BURRINJA 


Supporting Burrinja is supporting community. With your donation, we will be able to achieve the above and so much more in the year ahead.

Burrinja has been a centre piece for good mental health and social connection. As well as inviting community connection through shared experiences, we have provided access to resources and support for artists. Last year’s donations made it possible for Burrinja to support six visual artists/ collectives to exhibit in the Burrinja Gallery and six performing artists/ collectives to be in residence at Burrinja.


As you know the arts have been hit hard by the lingering effects of the pandemic, but Burrinja is determined to bring creativity to people’s lives. Hence, our 2022 giving campaign will see all donations supporting artist development and their fees in our 2022 & 2023 creative program.


Your donation will directly enable artists to create and present work on the Burrinja gallery walls, theatre stages, and digital screens in the near future.

Free Public Programs – visual and performing arts

We ensure that many of our exhibitions, theatre shows and events include engaging public programs with the artists, performers and programmers, allowing everyone to get an insight into their arts practice, and sometimes real hands-on experience.

Free Gallery Entrance – Burrinja Gallery

The arts are at the heart of our community and we value access for all to engage, enjoy and be inspired by the arts- since late 2015 we have made our exhibition program FREE for everyone to experience a wide range of artwork by local, Indigenous and international artists.

Burrinja Kids Stay and Play – Free Family Activities

Our Burrinja Kids Stay and Play free family activities engage local artists to create exciting family activities for everyone - but we need your support to keep it happening!

Burrinja is a registered, tax deductible charity

We are an independent arts organisation which operates with a volunteer Board of Management, our fabulous front of house volunteers and a small, dedicated team of staff. Since 1998, with on-going support from Yarra Ranges Council, we have helped develop and present arts and culture in the Dandenong Ranges, and we now bring cultural programs to over 70,000 people every year.

By gifting to Burrinja’s Public Fund you demonstrate your passion and support for arts and culture in the region. All donations help us to deliver more arts and cultural programs into the community, and are greatly appreciated. And every donation to the Burrinja Public Fund is tax-deductible.

Burrinja also supports and enables many other cultural events and programs in the region including Dandenong Ranges Open Studios,  Belgrave Lantern Parade,  Belgrave Survival Day,  hillsceneLive, Artist Studios and Workshop Studio spaces at Burrinja, VCE Creative Showcase,  Burrinja Kids Stay and Play, and the Burrinja Climate Change Biennale and award.

These community-based events and activities are vital for the vibrancy of our region, and attract more participation every year.
