The Grandsons of Pioneers

Having all come from a background of playing in bands for a combined total of about 160 years, the “Grandsons” came together initially to have a social pick together on weekends, enjoying playing and singing songs with a lean towards “country” and in particular, traditional Western Cowboy musc.

They eventually built up a repertoire of songs which featured four part harmony vocals accompanied by acoustic guitars.

Leo suggested recording the songs in his home studio which result in the product this cd.

So sit back, relax,  go back in time and enjoy the harmonious singing and picking of “The Grandsons of The Pioneers”.

Cafe Comedy by Dave O'Neil

Comedian Dave O'Neil returns to the Burrinja Cafe with very special guest Glenn Robbins,l also joined by comedian Brad Oakes and NOVA FM radio man Marty Sheargold.

The night will be a mixture of stand-up comedy and storytelling.

Dave O'Neil will host the night with a stand up bracket and then Glenn Robbins will take over to host the game 'Now I'll have to kill you,' where the comedians will reveal stuff they've never shared in public before.

Dave O'Neil is a regular at the Burrinja and mainly turns up for the delicious meals. He was one of the most popular guests on the ABC TV show 'SPICKS and SPECKS' appearing over 50 times.

Glenn Robbins is a much loved comedy icon having brought us Uncle Arthur, Kel Knight and Russell Coight. More recently Glenn has been playing Wayne Wheeler on the ABC TV show 'Upper Middle Bogan'.

Brad Oakes is one of the most popular stand-up comics on the live scene, having appeared on TV shows like Rove Live, Hey Hey and the Jimeoin Series.

Marty Sheargold can currently be heard on NOVA FM drive show 'Kate, Tim and Marty'. he can be seen every week on the ABC2 TV show 'Dirty Laundry' and is a resident of the Dandenongs, that's the real reason he's turning up, it's close to home.
